ZYP is currently implementing the following SRHR focused projects:

ZYP PROJECT INFORMATION

Y-CAP

Zambian Youth Platform (ZYP) through the implementation of the Youth Community Accountability Project (Y-CAP) aims at promoting cooperation in addressing community health needs, encourage adolescents and young people to share their experience, and facilitate joint action that makes a difference in the national health system.
With support from Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) Backup, Y-CAP further aims to strengthen the capacity of young people and their communities to hold service providers accountable for improved quality of HIV/SRH-related services for Aadolescents and Young People (AYP), through the use of an innovative blend of demand creation and social accountability strategies (DC/SA+).

Y-CAP

With support from IPAS, the Youth Community Advocacy Project (Y-CAP) aims at improving the quality of SRH services and increase access to Comprehensive Abortion Care (CAC) for AGYW in Chipata and Livingstone districts. The project further aims at addressing systemic inequalities and obstacles to CAC access and responses to GBV, this will lead to systemic improvements that will benefit all AGYW in Zambia.
The Project is also aimed at increasing access to CAC services including contraceptives and strengthen the capacity of AGYW to hold service providers accountable for improved quality of SRH services in the country through the use of an innovative blend of demand creation and social accountability strategies (DC/SA+).

W-CAP

The Western-Community Accountability Project (W-CAP) is a PEPAR funded project which uses the Community Led Monitoring approaches in which local Community based organizations, People Living with HIV (PLHIV) and other affected groups engage in gathering qualitative and quantitative data on HIV services.
W-CAP aims at guarding the scores attained so far in the HIV response by paying close attention to the health system. To achieve this, ZYP works in collaboration with Ministry of Health (at district level) and Community Health workers. W-CAP further aims to strengthen the national HIV response through the collection of independent clients’ feedback in a routine and systematic manner on the HIV services related to treatment

STEP-UP KP PREVENTION

With support from HIVOS, the Step-up KP Prevention project aims at facilitating access to comprehensive HIV services and increase protection mechanisms against gender-based violence, stigma and discrimination of Key Populations (MSM, TGs and SW) through strengthened local advocacy.
The project also aims at improving the quality of SRH related services for adolescents and young people in Zambia by addressing systemic inequalities and obstacles to health service access and responses to gender-based violence (GBV).The project also aims at improving the quality of SRH related services for adolescents and young people in Zambia by addressing systemic inequalities and obstacles to health

WINNING WITH GIRLS AND WOMEN

With support from Her Voice Fund, the project aims at ensuring community research that provides accurate data and evidence to strengthen Health programmes delivered to Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) in Zambia.
It further aims at strengthening the ability and coordination of AGYW to define their priorities, speak for themselves and be meaningfully engaged in designing health programmes in Zambia as well as safeguard equal access to comprehensive, rights based and gender sensitive SRH/HIV services for adolescent girls and young women in Zambia.

INTEGRATED HEALTH SERVICES PROJECT

With support from the Churches Health Association of Zambia (CHAZ), the Integrated Health Services Project is aimed at combating the spread of HIV infection and increase access to the different HIV/Sexual Reproduction Health (SRH) services.
The project also facilitates engagement through dialogue and interface meetings with key healthcare actors and health policy implementers aimed at sharing best practices to mitigate the gaps in the provision of TB/HIV/AIDS/SRH services. The project also creates space and platform for adolescents and young people.
